Professional Mobile Ear Care for Essex & Suffolk Care Homes
CQC-Compliant Services That Bring Dignity to Your Residents
We provide dedicated ear care to adult care homes across Essex and Suffolk, addressing the gap in NHS earwax removal services with a mobile, compassionate approach that treats residents with the dignity they deserve.
The Challenge Your Care Home Faces
Hearing Loss is a Hidden Crisis in Care Homes
Over two-thirds of older adults have hearing loss - yet it often goes unaddressed, leading to:
- Social isolation - Residents withdraw when they can't hear conversations
- Increased confusion and distress - Hearing loss can mimic or worsen dementia symptoms
- Higher risk of falls and cognitive decline - Evidence links untreated hearing loss to dementia progression
- Family concerns - Relatives notice their loved ones becoming "invisible"
- CQC compliance issues - Quality of life metrics suffer when residents can't engage
The Root Cause? Simple earwax blockage - easily treatable, but NHS services in Mid & South Essex and Suffolk & North East Essex are stretched impossibly thin, with waiting lists of 3+ months.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
We offer transparent day rates: £280 for a half-day clinic (up to 6 residents) or £480 for a full-day clinic (up to 12 residents). We also offer single-resident visits from £65. View full pricing details →
Do you provide CQC-compliant documentation?
Yes, absolutely. We provide full examination records, treatment notes, and referral evidence for every resident. All documentation meets CQC requirements and is provided immediately after each visit.
How long does each resident appointment take?
We allocate up to 40 minutes per resident - significantly more than the 15-20 minute slots offered elsewhere. This ensures unrushed, dignified care that prioritizes resident comfort.
What areas do you cover?
We serve care homes across Essex and Suffolk, including Braintree, Colchester, Chelmsford, Southend, Ipswich, and surrounding areas. Based in Coggeshall (CO6 1TT), we travel up to 80 miles.
What if a resident has dementia or is anxious?
We specialize in dementia-friendly care. Our approach is gentle, patient, and designed specifically for vulnerable residents. We take time to build trust, explain everything clearly, and never rush the process.
Do we need to do anything to prepare?
Very little! We just need a quiet room with good lighting and a chair. We bring all equipment and handle everything else. Staff time required is minimal - just help identifying which residents need care.
What if you can't remove the wax?
In rare cases where wax is impacted or there are underlying ear conditions, we provide a specialist referral with full documentation. You'll know immediately if further medical attention is needed.
Can we book just one resident to try you out?
Absolutely! Many care homes start with a single resident to see the quality of our service before booking multiple residents. Single-resident visits start from £65.

Quality Assurance & CQC Regulatory Status
Clear Ear Cheer operates to full CQC Fundamental Standards—by choice, not by requirement.
In January 2026, we formally contacted the Care Quality Commission (Reference: CAS-1218456-T5V7D1) to explore registration for our ear care health services. CQC confirmed that specialist ear care services provided by HCPI-qualified practitioners fall outside their regulatory scope—the same status as most mobile ear care providers across the UK.
However, we've made a deliberate choice to exceed industry standards by voluntarily building our entire practice to CQC Fundamental Standards.
What this means for your CQC compliance:
- Full documentation available - policies, procedures, and clinical governance framework for your inspection
- £5M professional indemnity insurance - NACAS Gold membership
- Enhanced DBS clearance - safeguarding vulnerable adults
- Clinical governance - meeting CQC Regulation 12 (Safe Care and Treatment)
- PSA-accredited professional registration in progress - AHCS Clinical Physiology (Audiology) Register for government-recognized professional standards
We provide everything you need for your own CQC compliance and due diligence requirements.
