Support For Medical Practices
Professional Ear Care Support for GP Surgeries & Medical Practices
Reduce Your Earwax Appointment Burden While Enhancing Patient Care
Mobile ear health services designed to complement your practice and free up valuable GP time for complex medical cases.
⚠️ The GP Earwax Challenge
You Already Know These Statistics:
🕐 2.3 million GP appointments annually in England for earwax-related issues
⏱️ 10-15 minutes per consultation that could address more complex health needs
📅 Repeat appointments often needed when ear syringing not available
💷 £97 average cost per GP consultation (NHS costing)
😞 Patient dissatisfaction when told "we no longer provide ear syringing"
The result?
Frustrated patients, overbooked appointment schedules, and GPs spending time on a service that specialist practitioners can deliver more effectively.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Is this NHS or private?
This is a private service that patients pay for directly. It complements NHS care by providing faster access to specialist ear care, reducing pressure on GP appointments.
What if a patient can't afford private care?
You can still refer to NHS audiology as normal. We provide an additional option for patients who value faster access and are willing to pay reasonable private fees.
Are you trying to take patients away from the NHS?
Absolutely not. We work alongside the NHS. When we identify medical conditions requiring GP/ENT care, we refer appropriately. We handle the straightforward earwax cases, freeing up NHS resources for complex medical needs.
What are your qualifications?
HCPI-certified ear care practitioner, NACAS Gold member (£5M indemnity insurance), DBS checked, ongoing CPD. Full credentials available on request.
How do we refer patients?
Three options: (1) Give patients our contact details, they book directly; (2) Use our referral form, we contact patient; (3) Your reception books directly with us. Whatever works best for your practice.
Are you CQC registered?
CQC registration is not legally required for mobile ear care practitioners, but we're pursuing voluntary registration to demonstrate our commitment to the highest clinical governance standards. Our application is in progress, and we already operate to CQC-compliant protocols.
Is there any cost to our practice?
No. Zero cost. Patients pay us directly. No contracts, no commitments, no fees.
How quickly can patients be seen?
Typically same week or next week. Much faster than NHS audiology waiting times (often 6-12 weeks).

Quality Assurance & CQC Regulatory Status
Clear Ear Cheer operates to full CQC Fundamental Standards—by choice, not by requirement.
In January 2026, we formally contacted the Care Quality Commission (Reference: CAS-1218456-T5V7D1) to explore registration for our ear care health services. CQC confirmed that specialist ear care services provided by HCPI-qualified practitioners fall outside their regulatory scope—the same status as most mobile ear care providers across the UK.
However, we've made a deliberate choice to exceed industry standards by voluntarily building our entire practice to CQC Fundamental Standards.
What this means for your CQC compliance:
- Full documentation available - policies, procedures, and clinical governance framework for your inspection
- £5M professional indemnity insurance - NACAS Gold membership
- Enhanced DBS clearance - safeguarding vulnerable adults
- Clinical governance - meeting CQC Regulation 12 (Safe Care and Treatment)
- PSA-accredited professional registration in progress - AHCS Clinical Physiology (Audiology) Register for government-recognized professional standards
We provide everything you need for your own CQC compliance and due diligence requirements.
